03 Jan Assel Grant Services Welcomes Its Fourth Certified Grant Professional to the Grant Writing Team
Assel Grant Services is growing, adding three new team members to our staff for a total of seven, to meet increasing demand for grant writing services. Our firm is quickly becoming one of the area’s leading teams of grant consultants as the trend of outsourcing grant writing continues to rise, not only in Kansas City, but also across the U.S.
Specializing in grant research, proposal creation, and application for nonprofits, school districts, and institutions of higher education, our grant writers and researchers are highly efficient and experienced in private and public grant programs in areas as diverse as human services, arts, education, and healthcare research.
Julie is Our Fourth GPC
Julie Alsup, Certified Grants Professional (GPC) was hired as Director of Nonprofit Engagement. Prior to joining Assel Grant Services, Julie was the Grants Director for the YMCA of Greater Kansas City where she oversaw all aspects of the grants process. Now, as Director of Nonprofit Engagement, Julie oversees the nonprofit division of the firm, working with nonprofit clients, managing associate workflow assignments, and developing and managing client relationships. Julie has 18 years of experience working for nonprofit agencies in fund development, consulting and management capacities.

Hayley is a Grants Specialist
Hayley Waynick, GPC, has ten years of experience in nonprofit development and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. She came from KidsTLC, a behavioral health and social services agency. Hayley works with a variety of nonprofit clients to support their grant calendars, develop grant proposals and reports, and grant research for new funding opportunities. She also provides support for training in the community and business development.
Kari is a Grants Associate
Kari Cronbaugh-Auld, MSW, came on board to take on the role of Grants Associate. Kari’s background for the last 20 years has been in children and family services in the Kansas City area. She has experience working for nonprofit agencies in direct service and management capacities, participating in program planning, grant writing, service implementation, and agency strategic planning. Kari has a Master’s degree in Social Work and brings a strong acumen for research to the grant writing process.
Julie, Hayley, and Kari bring their expertise to us and expands our content knowledge on the local and national trends in funding, as well as the extensive needs of our clients who are serving some of the most vulnerable children, families and individuals in our community and in the country.
