United States Department of Agriculture Attention broadband providers, local governments and officials, and cooperatives! The Rural Utilities Service, an agency under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), is accepting proposals for its Rural eConnectivity Program. This program provides loans, grants, and loan/grant combinations to facilitate broadband deployment in rural areas. By facilitating the expansion of broadband services and infrastructure, the program will fuel long-term economic development and opportunities in rural America. Applications may be submitted beginning September 6, 2022, through November 2, 2022.

United States Department of Agriculture – Rural Housing Service Does your organization provide housing to individuals in rural communities or assist rural communities in recovering economically from COVID-19 impact? If you answered yes to either question, then check out this great opportunity from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The Rural Housing Service, a Rural Development (RD) agency of the USDA, recently announced grants to support organizations with repair or rehabilitation of housing for low-income rural residents. Applications for this program are due July 11, 2022.

Department of Justice – Office on Violence Against Women Does your organization work with victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking? The Department of Justice (DOJ) is accepting proposals for its Grants for rural domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking (DVSA) programs through the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), a component of the DOJ. The overall goals of the program are to support efforts to enhance the safety of rural victims of DVSA, and support projects uniquely designed to address and prevent crimes in rural areas. OVW is especially seeking organizations that serve culturally specific organizations to advance racial equity and strengthen efforts to prevent sexual assault including victim services and civil and criminal justice responses.

United States Department of Agriculture – Rural Development Is your organization or government agency seeking to increase employment opportunities and readiness for rural communities? Check out this great opportunity from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The USDA recently announced $10 million in grant awards to support job accelerator partnerships to improve the ability of rural communities to create high-wage jobs, accelerate the formation of new businesses, and help rural communities identify and maximize local assets. Applications for this program are due April 19, 2022.

Health Resources and Services Administration Does your organization provide behavioral health care services in rural areas? The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) recently opened its annual funding opportunity, the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program – Behavioral Health Care Support (RCORP-BHS). RCORP-BHS is a multi-year initiative that improves access to and quality of substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and other behavioral health care services in high-risk rural areas. Ultimately, RCORP-BHS aims to reduce morbidity and mortality of SUD, including opioid use disorder (OUD), in these communities. Applications for this program are due April 19, 2022.

United States Department of Agriculture – Rural Development Is your organization or government agency seeking to improve broadband access in rural areas? Check out this great opportunity from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The USDA recently announced at least $1.15 billion in loans and grants to enhance access to high-speed internet for rural residents through its ReConnect Program. ReConnect uses a variety of funding instruments (loans, grants and loan-grant combinations) to support construction costs, improvements, or facility and equipment acquisition needed to provide sufficient access to broadband service. This improved infrastructure and access will ultimately support long-term economic development in rural communities. Applications for this program are due February 22, 2022.

United States Department of Agriculture – Rural Development Attention rural public entities and the organizations that support them! The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is now accepting proposals for its Rural Business Development Grants (RBDG) program. The overall goal of RBDG is to support economic development and job creation in rural areas. RBDG accomplishes this by funding technical assistance, training, and other activities targeted to small and emerging private businesses. RBDG applications are due February 28, 2022 to the applicant’s local or state USDA office.

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) recently opened its annual funding opportunity, the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program – Implementation (RCORP-Implementation). RCORP-Implementation is a multi-year initiative that focuses on strengthening and expanding prevention, treatment, and recovery services for substance use disorder (SUD) and opioid use disorder (OUD) in rural communities. Ultimately, RCORP aims to improve access to treatment for rural residents, so that they may move toward recovery. Applications for this program are due January 13, 2022.

United States Department of Agriculture – Rural Development Attention rural microentrepreneurs and the organizations that support them! The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is now accepting proposals for its 2021 Rural Microentrepreneur Assistance Program (RMAP). The goal of RMAP is to support the development and success of rural microentrepreneurs and microenterprises. It accomplishes this by providing loans and grants to Microenterprise Development Organizations (MDOs) that provide technical assistance and financial services to eligible rural businesses. RMAP applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, with due dates occurring at the end of each quarter, from September 30, 2021 through June 30, 2022.
