U.S. Department of Justice – Office of Justice Programs and Bureau of Justice Assistance Calling all law enforcement and mental health agencies! The Department of Justice (DOJ) – Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and Office of Justice Programs (OJP) has a great opportunity for eligible organizations to prepare, create, or expand comprehensive plans to implement justice and mental health collaboration programs. Funded programs will support preliminarily qualified individuals and promote public safety and public health for individuals with mental health disorders (MDHs) or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders (MHSUDs) who have come in contact with the criminal justice system or are leaving a custodial setting. Department of Justice – Office on Violence Against Women Does your organization work with victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking? The Department of Justice (DOJ) is accepting proposals for its Grants for rural domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking (DVSA) programs through the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), a component of the DOJ. The overall goals of the program are to support efforts to enhance the safety of rural victims of DVSA, and support projects uniquely designed to address and prevent crimes in rural areas. OVW is especially seeking organizations that serve culturally specific organizations to advance racial equity and strengthen efforts to prevent sexual assault including victim services and civil and criminal justice responses.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is accepting proposals for its Grants for Legal Assistance for Victims (LAV) of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking (DVSA) through the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), a component of the DOJ. The overall goals of the LAV program are to increase the availability of civil and criminal legal assistance needed to effectively aid adult and youth (ages 11 and older) victims by providing funds for comprehensive direct legal services in legal matters relating to or arising from abuse or violence. OVW is especially seeking organizations that serve culturally specific organizations to advance racial equity, improve outreach and services to underserved and population-specific communities, and focus on sexual assault and non-intimate partner sexual assault.

U.S. Department of Justice – Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Is your law enforcement agency or school district seeking funding for security- and safety-related capacity improvements? The Department of Justice (DOJ) – Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) office has several funding opportunities opening soon that will support officer hiring and training, including school resource officers, as well as a variety of smaller-scale initiatives for law enforcement agencies. COPS funds a variety of grant programs that advance community policing through efforts such as hiring personnel; collaborating with school districts and other community partners to improve safety and security; training officers and key partners; and more. Included below are brief breakdowns of the open COPS solicitations, which support officer mental health and wellness and investigating the unlawful distribution of opioids and methamphetamines. The Department of Justice (DOJ) is now accepting proposals for its Grants for Outreach and Services to Underserved Populations through the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW). OVW operates under the DOJ and provides funding for coordinated community responses to holding offenders accountable and serving victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking.
