GPCI COMPETENCIES
Competency #1: Knowledge of how to research, identify, and match funding resources to meet specific needs
The Grant Professional Certified examination measures a candidate’s competency and skill in the grants profession. To qualify for the Grant Professionals Certified (GPC), you must pass an examination developed through rigorous national standards for professional credentials. The exam includes two independent sections: the Multiple Choice Exam and the Writing Exam. The content of each exam is outlined on the Competencies Tested page of the GPCI website. Both exams must be passed to earn the GPC.
Competency #2: Knowledge of organizational development as it pertains to grant seeking
Competency #3: Knowledge of strategies for effective program and project design development
Competency #4: Knowledge of how to craft, construct, and submit an effective grant application
Competency #8: Knowledge of methods and strategies that cultivate and maintain relationships between fund-seeking and recipient organizations and funders
Our trainings align to the Grant Professionals Certification Institute’s (GPCI) competencies and skills. They address multiple skills within a competency, interrelated skills across competencies, or a specific skill within a competency in great detail. All courses:
- Are eligible for CEUs
- Align with GPCI competencies
- Are led by nationally recognized GPA-approved trainers
