A high quality after school and summer learning program engages youth during times when they might be otherwise unsupervised and engaging in risky, dangerous, or delinquent behavior. Youth Leaders work directly with the youth, creating lessons that encourage academic achievement, character development, and healthy living. Coordinators oversee the youth in the tutoring program and track their academic growth. Tutors work with individuals and small groups to help students meet their academic goals. Moderate physical activity is implemented daily. In addition, utilizing the Mobile Kitchen for Nutrition Education activities is embedded into the weekly schedule. Youth Council gives every youth the opportunity to plan clubs and activities centered around specific areas of interest, including STEM, Arts and Humanities, Nutrition Education, Physical Activity.
With a focus on safety, health, social growth and academic enhancement, Y Club before and after school gives kindergartners through sixth graders a safe, supportive and fun environment to learn, develop interests and make friends. Parents enjoy the convenience of a state licensed program in their child’s school, affordable weekly fees, and peace of mind knowing that qualified, trained staff are there to provide a positive atmosphere.
