Health Resources and Services Administration Does your organization provide behavioral health care services in rural areas? The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) recently opened its annual funding opportunity, the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program – Behavioral Health Care Support (RCORP-BHS). RCORP-BHS is a multi-year initiative that improves access to and quality of substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and other behavioral health care services in high-risk rural areas. Ultimately, RCORP-BHS aims to reduce morbidity and mortality of SUD, including opioid use disorder (OUD), in these communities. Applications for this program are due April 19, 2022.

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) recently opened its annual funding opportunity, the Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Program. AHEC develops and enhances education and training networks within communities, academic institutions, and community-based organizations. These efforts support three overarching goals related to the health care workforce: increased diversity and cultural competency, enhanced distribution (especially among rural and underserved areas and populations), and practice transformation for a high-quality health care delivery system. Applications for this program are due April 6, 2022.

Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration - FY22 Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic Expansion Grants (CCBHC Expansion Grants) Is your agency looking to expand services to become a certified community behavioral health clinic (CCBHC)? The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has awarding $312 million in funding for nearly 156 awards in the FY2022 Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic Expansion Grants competition. The purpose of this program is to increase access to and improve the quality of community mental and substance use disorder treatment services through the expansion of CCBHCs. This grant has a deadline of May 17, 2022

Title X services include a wide range of medically approved products and activities (described below) that assist individuals in preventing or achieving pregnancy. This program emphasizes a priority for serving persons from low-income households. Proposals for this opportunity are due January 11, 2022.

Ultimately, RCORP aims to improve access to treatment for rural residents, so that they may move toward recovery. Applications for this program are due January 13, 2022.

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) recently opened a funding opportunity through its Promoting Resilience and Mental Health Among Health Professional Workforce (PRMHW) program. The overall goal of the PRMHW program is to support health care organizations in the adoption, promotion, and implementation of a culture of wellness for their health professional workforce(s), including building resilience against burnout and supporting mental health. This program also places an emphasis on addressing social determinants of health, health equity and disparities, and the needs of rural and medically underserved communities. The due date for this year’s funding opportunity is coming up on August 30, 2021.
13 Aug Funding Alert! Cooperative Agreements to Address Health Disparities
Department of Health and Human Services Does your organization work to address health disparities among racial and ethnic minority populations? The Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Minority Health is accepting applications for its cooperative agreement program, Framework to Address Health Disparities through Collaborative Policy Efforts: Demonstration Projects. In conjunction with the office’s Coordinating Center cooperative agreements for the same program, Demonstration Projects develop and demonstrate the effectiveness of methodologies for addressing health disparities. This includes assessing and identifying policies that contribute to structural racism and perpetuate health disparities, as well as modifying, developing, and implementing policies that improve health outcomes. Proposals for this program are due August 23, 2022.
