REACH Healthcare Foundation Awards $50,000 Grant to ReDiscover

ReDiscover was recently awarded a $50,000 grant from REACH Healthcare Foundation to support core operating expenses.

ReDiscover will utilize 2020 REACH core support to assist with quality improvement (QI) (monitoring, learning, and evaluation). QI is always a critically important function for agencies. It has an even larger relevance now due to Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) requirements and increased emphasis on advocacy in light of policy changes at the state and federal level. Now more than ever, it is important that ReDiscover prioritize data gathering, reporting and dissemination to identify gaps and strengths. An increased emphasis on quality will foster a learning environment ensuring quality in a time of change.

The increasing demand for access to suicide prevention, crisis intervention, and treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders in Jackson County is evident by the surge of individuals served by ReDiscover. This increase in treatment services has caused a rise in the need for follow-up and/or aftercare services so individuals don’t fall into a gap between urgent access, treatment, and engagement in community outpatient treatment.

ReDiscover is a nonprofit 501c3 community mental health center established in 1969. We provide comprehensive programs and services for men, women, and children whose lives have been affected by mental illness and/or substance use disorders. We help a broad range of individuals and families who are indigent, uninsured, or underinsured as well as individuals with private payer sources.
