These half-day, interactive sessions are designed to support nonprofit professionals before and during their first federal grant.

You’ll learn: 

  • The change from Duns and Bradstreet to Unique Entity Identifier (UEI)
  • How to register for the System for Award Management and Grants.gov
  • How to register for more department-specific submission and management portals like eRA Commons, NSF FastLane, Department of Justice JustGrants, Department of Education G5 portal, the National Endowment for the Arts Applicant Portal.
  • Key components to a proposal development timeline and checklist
  • How to design and run a series of proposal design meetings
  • How to use charts like a logic model to get consensus and information about project activities quickly
  • When to hold a meeting and when to provide a checklist
  • Clear definitions of evidence-based and research-based
  • Commonly used evidence levels
  • How to describe programs not based on specific evidence-based models, but which still use research to guide its programming.

Join our new Federal Grants Community of grant professionals who are just like you seeking advice and someone to ask questions when the federal program officers don’t or won’t answer. AGS’ Communities are moderated by credentialed grant professionals who have been awarded millions in federal grant funding. Our grant experts can guide you and your faculty through the entire grant lifecycle, from planning to reporting.

 

CEUs

 

This training aligns with the Grant Professional Certification Institute’s Competencies and Skills and is approved for 3.5 Continuing Education Unit (CEU). Full participation in this training is also applicable for 3.5 points in Category 1.B – Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.

 

The trainers for these sessions are all credentialed grant professionals (GPCs) through the Grant Professional Certification Institute, Approved Trainers with the Grant Professionals Association, and experts with multiple federal grant departments. All of the trainings in this series align with the Grant Professionals Certification Institute’s competencies and skills and will be approved for Continuing Education Units (CEU) by GPCI and CFRE International.

 

Cost: $150/session or $600 for the full series of four sessions
