29 Nov H&R Block Foundation Awards $50,000 Grant to KidsTLC, Inc.
KidsTLC, Inc. recently received a grant for $50,000 from the H&R Block Foundation to support staff training, consultation, and supplies focused on our agency’s “Philosophy of Care,” Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).
KidsTLC will purchase much needed workbooks, video cameras for consultation, and set up an AV room for live and video supervision. Fees will be paid for DDPI Agency Certification as well as consultant-in-training/trainer-in-training fees for the two lead DDP senior staff. Throughout the year, staff will participate in various tele-video consultations with Dr. Hughes and Mr. McKellar while our seven therapists continue their practicum work.
DDP is a “science informed” model of treatment that uses relational processes consistent with a large body of neuroscientific research which shows that a highly nurturing, attuned, responsive form of parenting promotes healthy brain development and the formation of strong emotional bonds between parents and children.
Since 1972, KidsTLC has provided a safe, accessible, and healing community for kids and families. The agency has seen tremendous growth and transformation over the years. The Lotus Clinics at KidsTLC provide outpatient mental and behavioral health services to children, adolescents and their families, with an outcome to positively increase overall functioning across multiple settings in home, school and community.
For those struggling with anxiety, depression, self-acceptance, substance abuse, self-harming or suicidal thoughts, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, family dysfunction, anger, interpersonal difficulties or a myriad of other concerns, the Lotus Clinics can provide hope and healing which lead to a healthy, fulfilling life. KidsTLC recently announced it is the only mental health provider in the world to be fully certified in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).
