Developing Potential, Inc. Receives $15,000 Grant from CPS Foundation

Developing Potential, Inc. recently received a grant for $15,000 from the CPS Foundation to improve Developing Potential’s transportation services and improve its health and nutrition curriculum.

DPI will purchase a sedan to complement its other transportation offerings. We are currently renovating one of our kitchens, and we will need to purchase new appliances to better support the health and nutrition of the individuals we serve. These improvements will raise the quality of our services and help the people we serve live happier and more fulfilling lives.  The goals of this project are to help individuals be more connected to their communities and to help individuals live healthier lives.

To help people be included in their communities, DPI must be able to provide effective transportation for day trips to community destinations. Such destinations include parks, gyms, restaurants, and grocery stores, along with volunteer opportunities that help participants experience the joy that comes from serving others. Transportation options must be flexible and accommodate a wide variety of mobility needs to maximize these community inclusion opportunities.  For those adults who count on DPI for their nutritional needs, the new appliances will increase healthy nutritional options.

DPI provides outcome driven supports to assist our program participants in attaining their goals. Our programs serve adults over the age of 21. Our curriculum ranges from teaching basic skills for independent living, like health and safety for example, to the more advanced skills needed in finding a job, maintaining personal finances, and achieving self-reliance.
