Camp Fire Receives a $46,760 Grant from the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City

Camp Fire was recently awarded a $46,760 grant from the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City to support their Conflict Resolution (CR) program.

Camp Fire will provide the Conflict Resolution curriculum as part of school day programming in eight schools in KCPS as a strategy to help lower conflict situations and improve individual outcomes that ultimately impact student academic success and mental health and well-being.

The overall goal of this program is to increase indicators of youth resiliency that lead to stronger mental health and help youth thrive in school and life. Camp Fire will provide the Conflict Resolution curriculum as part of school day programming in eight schools in KCPS as a strategy to help lower conflict situations and improve individual outcomes that ultimately impact student academic success and mental health and well-being.

The project will impact 2,563 elementary age children in grades K-6 at eight elementary schools in KCPS. These youth will receive eight months of CR curriculum modules delivered monthly by Camp Fire staff trained in the agency’s research based methodology, CR curriculum, and cultural competency.
