Leah Hyman, GPC, is a Senior Grants Specialist with Assel Grants Services. Leah graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kansas State University with degrees in English and International Studies in 2009 and then began a 10-year career in small business. She served as Chief Operating Officer for a conglomerate of retail businesses operating in Kansas and Missouri, and she co-founded a nationally recognized donut shop in Manhattan, KS in 2011. In addition to her business experience, she has a strong background in various writing styles, from academic research to creative marketing copy, and in editing.
Most recently, Leah served as Communications Coordinator for the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation (GMCF) and worked as a grant services contractor. During her first two years of writing grant proposals, she secured over $100,000 in funding for small nonprofit agencies in the Manhattan area. Leah volunteers as a Trustee for GMCF and as a grant writer for several local organizations that focus on outdoor recreation and healthy lifestyles. She and her husband have two children and live just outside of Manhattan, KS.
