Julie Alsup, PMP, GPC is Assel Grant Services’ Vice President of Grant Operations. In this role she leads the firm’s grant writing and reviewing/coaching services and project management strategy. She has secured over $45 million in grant funding since joining the firm in 2016 and raised a cumulative $60 million since 2005. Her 25 years of experience in development and grant-seeking include working at the YMCA of Greater Kansas City, Park University, the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation Illinois Chapter, and the United Way of the Rock River Valley.
She earned her Grant Professional Certification (GPC) in 2016 and the Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) in 2023. She is the past president and program committee chair of the Heart of America Grant Professionals Association. She is also an approved trainer through the Grant Professionals Association. Her expertise is working on federal grants with multiple partners, and writing to agencies including the Health Resources & Services Administration, the Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention. She has also written grants to numerous state and local government entities as well as to non-government entities.
