Metro Lutheran Ministries (MLM) Receives $65,000 Grant from Sunderland Foundation

Metro Lutheran Ministry (MLM) was recently awarded a $65,000 grant from the Sunderland Foundation to support phase two of a three-phase renovation of MLM’s Central Community Assistance Center (CAC), located at 3031 Holmes Street, Kansas City, MO 64109.

As MLM continues to expand its services to offer more holistic and comprehensive solutions to poverty and homelessness in Kansas City, the need for remote office locations, community outreach, and advanced network security has increased. Over the last five years, MLM’s budget has nearly doubled and this growth will continue with the impending launch of several innovative programs during the next year. MLM’s Board of Directors recognizes this need and has used its expertise to recommend improvements to the Central CAC’s existing technology infrastructure.

Phase two of MLM’s Central Community Assistance (CAC) renovation will involve an extensive update to MLM’s existing technology infrastructure and network capability. This will be accomplished through the purchase and installation of new hardware and software at the Central CAC, including security appliances (firewalls), network equipment, a server, desktop and laptop computers, docking stations, software licenses, and IT consulting time.

Metro Lutheran Ministry (MLM) was founded in 1971 as a response to poverty and homelessness for people of all races, religions, and nationalities in the greater Kansas City area. For 45 years, MLM has served the poor, homeless, elderly, and disabled of Kansas City’s urban core. Our holistic approach to services and programs address the immediate need for food, clothing, shelter, utilities, and transportation.
