Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI) Receives $50,000 Grant from the Muriel McBrien Kauffman Foundation

Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI) was recently awarded a $50,000 grant from the Muriel McBrien Kauffman Foundation to continue to evolve the quality of its facilities and programs, and advance the overall educational experience with firsthand learning opportunities for the 21st-century student.

Funding from the Muriel McBrien Kauffman Foundation will support the KCAI Annual Fund and the 2018 ArtPop event. The Annual Fund is critical to KCAI, as it closes the gap between student tuition and the actual costs to educate each student. Sponsorship’s for ArtPop are dedicated to funding scholarship support for KCAI students so that we can attract and educate the top talent in Kansas City.

Our mission is to prepare gifted students to transform the world creatively through art and design. We do this by:

– providing a rigorous education in art, design, and the liberal arts that combines theory and creative application through facilitating aesthetic exploration and critical inquiry and reflection in an historical and contemporary context;

– nurturing the professional, intellectual, and personal growth of our students through access to dedicated preeminent, professionally active faculty;

– preparing our graduates for thriving multifaceted careers by creating partnerships that serve and involve the public, encourage lifelong learning, and promote student engagement with local, national, and international communities.

Founded in 1885, the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI) is a premier, private, four-year college of art and design accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and the Higher Learning Commission. In addition to exceptional academic programs, KCAI offers a full range of student support services, a low student to teacher ratio, internships, and professional development opportunities.
