Developing Potential, Inc. (DPI) Receives $58,032 Grant from the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City

Developing Potential, Inc. (DPI) was recently awarded a $58,032 grant from the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City to support their Access to Services Program.

The program supports better health for people in the day services program, increases program participation, and improves quality of life for participants.

Program participants will experience better health due to monitoring, record-keeping, and advocacy by the nurse and staff members.  DPI will increase safety by training staff on fall risk mitigation, and by evaluating fall risks for all onsite program participants.  DPI staff will more effectively serve the health needs of individuals at DPI by increasing their knowledge of health issues most relevant to individuals with developmental disabilities.

DPI serves adults with developmental disabilities between the ages of 21 and 64, the vast majority of whom reside in Jackson County, MO. Almost all people DPI serves have disabilities classified as severe or profound, and nearly all live at or below the poverty level.
